Hybrid Work Model at Grammarly

We are excited to offer a remote-first hybrid working model, allowing team members to collaborate effectively across the United States, Canada, Ukraine, Germany, and Poland. This role requires the candidate to be based in Poland or Germany and available to meet in person for 2 weeks every quarter at our tech hubs, ensuring a blend of focus time and in-person collaboration that sparks creativity and trust.

Your New Role and Responsibilities

As the first Machine Learning Engineer on our Mobile Team, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of mobile AI technologies at Grammarly. You will:

• Design, develop, and optimize machine learning models specifically for mobile devices.
• Integrate AI technologies into Grammarly’s applications on both iOS and Android platforms.
• Enhance NLP algorithms that power features like autocorrect and swipe typing on the iOS keyboard.
• Lead A/B testing for model deployments and troubleshoot any issues to improve model performance continuously.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative ML-driven features from concept to deployment.
• Communicate complex machine learning concepts to non-experts, ensuring clarity and project alignment.
• Advance Grammarly’s AI capabilities by leveraging the latest research in machine learning and natural language processing.

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate:

• Alignment with Grammarly’s EAGER values and MOVE principles.
• 8+ years of software development experience and 4+ years in machine learning with a focus on NLP and on-device ML.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C++ and experience in mobile development environments.
• A deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and experience in implementing academic research.
• The ability to travel to hub locations for collaborative work sessions quarterly.
