Internship Opportunity Overview

Are you a student or recent graduate eager to start a meaningful career? Explore our openings for internships, co-ops, and entry-level roles. Note: This specific intern role, requiring you to be a rising senior graduating in May 2025, is not eligible for CPT/OPT status.

This hybrid position allows flexibility with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote, blending structured collaboration with autonomy.

About the ML Engineering Team at Staples

Our ML Engineering team is at the forefront of creating intelligent systems to tackle a variety of business challenges, from order fulfillment and supply chain optimization to personalized customer experiences and beyond. By designing, prototyping, and implementing end-to-end Machine Learning systems, we leverage big data to enhance ecommerce operations across numerous domains.

Project Details

This project aims to develop a robust intelligence platform to advance Staples' machine learning capabilities. You will contribute to building reusable modules and pipelines for feature engineering, model training, and more, spanning across diverse business challenges like dynamic pricing and customer insights.

Project Impact and Evaluation

The success of your project will lead to a powerful foundational platform that powers multiple customer-facing machine learning applications, measured by cost-efficiency, scalability, and ease of integration for new models and applications.

Candidate Qualifications

• Basic Qualifications: Actively pursuing a master’s degree with a strong foundation in machine learning, deep learning, and optimization. Knowledge of Azure and a solid mathematical background will be advantageous.
• Preferred Qualifications: Team player with excellent communication skills, adaptable to new challenges and capable of multitasking.
