Purpose of the Position

The Manager, Data Analytics (internally known as Advisor, Data Analytics) plays a critical role in delivering the Internal Audit's data analytics roadmap and supporting the completion of annual audit plans. Working closely with the Internal Audit team and stakeholders, you will provide analytics insights on various audit engagements and build out our continuous assurance program. This role reports to the Director, IS Internal Audit, and does not have direct reports.

Position Accountabilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Utilize multiple tools to manage and analyze large data volumes from various sources.
  • Collaborate with IA leadership to continually advance our continuous assurance program.
  • Provide analytics support during planning, execution, and reporting phases of audit engagements.
  • Lead audit engagements with significant data components.
  • Develop and maintain IA’s risk monitoring dashboards.
  • Coach and enhance the data literacy of the broader audit team.
  • Maintain competencies in advanced analytics, process automation, and artificial intelligence.
  • Foster positive and professional relationships with Management while maintaining objectivity and independence.
  • Enhance skills and knowledge through education, training, and collaboration.
  • Promote innovation within Internal Audit, providing leadership on AI and Machine Learning technologies.
  • Develop knowledge of CPKC-specific processes and technologies.
  • Support IA software as a “Super User”.

Position Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics; audit and/or risk management experience is a considerable asset.
  • Strong understanding of ETL and data visualization tools.
  • Poised analytical, investigative, problem-solving, and root cause identification skills.
  • Experience with SAP core modules and BASIS is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • A strong desire to drive change and foster innovation.

Location Flexibility: As CPKC expands its North American presence, the position's location may change based on organizational requirements (applicable to all Non-Union positions in Canada and the U.S.).
