Important Dates

Written and Physical Fitness Test: July 26th (Selected applicants will be notified by email and must confirm attendance by July 19th)

  • High School/GED Diploma or Transcript
  • College Diploma/Transcripts (if applicable)
  • Copy of P.O.S.T. Certification or State Equivalent (if applicable)
  • EMT Certification (if applicable)
  • DD214 (if applicable)

Competitive Salary

Starting Salary: $55,450 (uncertified); $61,106 (certified)

Shift: 12-Hour Shifts with a rotation of every other weekend off

Teams A & B: 5:45 am – 6:15 pm | Teams C & D: 5:45 pm – 6:15 am

Hiring Process

  4. Candidates passing the exams will complete a background investigation packet within five (5) days
  5. Once background checks are verified, an interview will be scheduled

  8. Final Background Check (including a 10-year history, motor vehicle check, credit check, physical, and psychological evaluation)

  • Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy
  • Basic Fire Academy
  • Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) School
  • Field Training Officer (FTO) Program
