What You'll Do

As a Postdoctoral Research Scientist, you will:

  • Develop cutting-edge algorithms tackling complex challenges in computer vision, graphics, and neural rendering.
  • Create novel representations and develop techniques for high-quality rendering of codec avatars specifically optimized for mobile VR headsets.
  • Share your findings through publications in prestigious journals and presentations at top-tier international conferences.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other experts in Computer Vision and Machine Learning to translate research into real-world applications for Meta’s VR/AR products.

Who We're Looking For

You should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
  • A PhD (or soon to be completed) in Computer Vision, Computer Graphics, Machine Learning, or a related area.
  • Experience in machine learning, computer graphics or computer vision with specific skills in differentiable rendering, neural rendering, generative models, and 3D reconstruction.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-group and cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Legal work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire and maintenance thereof during employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrable achievements such as grants, fellowships, patents, or prominent publications.
  • Proficiency in using machine learning frameworks like PyTorch in Python, and designing computer graphics algorithms in C++.
  • Experience in advanced rendering techniques using technologies such as NeRF or volumetric rendering.
  • Track record in software engineering demonstrated through various platforms like internships, coding competitions, or contributions to open source repositories.

Compensation and Benefits

Meta values the skill and expertise that you bring. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $117,000 to $173,000 per year, plus bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
