Job Description
Title: Senior Data Engineer - Information Security (Service Delivery Management)
Reporting to: Manager
Location: Bangalore
Overall Objectives:
Eurofins is currently strengthening the Information Security Reporting area. The team is responsible for designing data pipelines and producing and maintaining reports for various IT departments, such as IT Quality Assurance, IT Service Management, IT Compliance, Information Security, and IT Infrastructure, and maintaining the solutions on which these data pipelines operate. The data in scope includes the performance of IT services, compliance of IT assets, and the entire IT environment's security posture.
Job overview:
The Senior Data Engineer's role includes analyzing requirements, sourcing data, overseeing data transformation, and then maintaining and supporting the data pipelines and the infrastructure they run on, e.g., Jenkins CI/CD. These activities will be closely coordinated with the GSC IT Service Management & Reporting team.
Responsibilities:
The Senior Data Engineer will:
- Analyze approved requirements from stakeholders across IT and business functions.
- Work with domain experts and data/app owners to transform data.
- Design, create, orchestrate, and maintain data pipelines and data extraction scripts.
- Write scripts to extract data (Python/PowerShell).
- Manage the application layer for the CI/CD tool used for sourcing data (Jenkins).
- Assess data quality.
- Monitor CI/CD jobs and troubleshoot failures.
- Document the data dictionary and data pipelines/business rules.
- Work with IT/ Data Engineers to deploy or coordinate the deployment of new data sources.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in English communication, both verbal and written.
- Holds a bachelor's or master's degree in a STEM program.
- Has a minimum of 5 years of experience as a data engineer.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, data migration, and data modeling.
- Must have knowledge of Data Bases (MS SQL/NoSQL), Programming in PowerShell and Python, Experience with Jenkins CI/CD platform, Experience in integrating with data sources over API, and a general understanding of cloud platforms (mainly MS Azure), and software engineering skills including coding and software design best practices DevOps/GIT.
- Advantageous if familiar with enterprise data warehousing/data lakes/data mesh, usage of cloud data engineering tools like Azure Data Factory, AWS Lambda/Red Shift, concepts of API security, design of Jenkins or other CI/CD tool architecture, experience working with Power BI, Agile working experience (Continuous integration / Continuous delivery), and the ability to analyze large datasets to identify gaps and inconsistencies, provide data insights, and effective product solutions.
