Principal Scientist - Research Data Management - Cheminformatics

KEMIO Consulting, in partnership with a top 10 award-winning pharmaceutical organization, is seeking a Principal Scientist in Research Data Management to advance cheminformatics data applications. Job Role: Key Responsibilities

This role offers a unique opportunity to maximize the value of key R&D data assets. As a Principal Scientist, you will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Discovery Research to identify strategic needs for data capturing, access, and reuse, focusing initially on small molecule research.
  • Develop and implement a roadmap for innovations leveraging research data from drug discovery projects, working closely with IT partners and domain experts.
  • Ensure alignment with overall R&D strategic goals through interactions with users and senior stakeholders, accelerating insights for the R&D pipeline.
  • Oversee the compound database, a core element of the R&D data infrastructure.
  • Drive data quality standards and frameworks, enhancing data value and availability for future reuse.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Bioengineering, Computer Sciences, or a related field.
  • Technical expertise with hands-on experience in software development or database management. Experience in cheminformatics is a plus.
  • Multiple years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, with a track record of driving collaborations at the intersection of R&D and technology.
  • Excellent communication and moderation skills in both written and spoken English.
