Are you ready to lead the development of advanced language models at Meta? Our Generative AI Org is actively seeking a seasoned Research Scientist Manager to enhance our pioneering LLama model initiatives, contributing to revolutionary changes across digital communication technologies.

Key Responsibilities

As a vital leader within our dynamic team, you will:

• Oversee the creation of large-scale datasets vital for training our avant-garde LLama models.
• Manage the end-to-end execution of NLP dataset development, from sourcing and curation to quality control and experimentation.
• Expand and guide a dedicated team of experts within the Language Data Foundation of Generative AI.
• Engage and forge robust partnerships across the company to drive cross-functional projects.
• Stay at the forefront of current research and technological advances, participating in design and strategy decisions, and addressing technical challenges.
• Actively participate in the research community, contributing to trend-setting and innovation.

Minimum Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience in large language model, NLP, and Transformer modeling.
• A proven track record of significant research and/or product impacts in a fast-paced setting.
• At least 3 years of experience in leading and supporting teams of research scientists and software engineers.
• A visionary understanding of the future directions of generative AI technologies.
• Demonstrated ability in developing large-scale AI datasets, models, and services.
• Comprehensive experience in cross-functional collaboration within a product-driven environment.
• Proven capabilities in recruiting, building, and managing technical teams effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

It would be beneficial if you have:

• A PhD in deep learning, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
• Experience in constructing massive-scale datasets for training NLP and multimodal models.
• Familiarity with ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, and large-scale data platforms like Spark and Hive.
• Expertise in LangChain and other LLM frameworks.
• Deep knowledge in training and fine-tuning LLMs, specifically LLaMa models.
