Senior Release Engineer ML/AI - Remote Position in India

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery pipeline and release automation framework for all Sumo services.
• Educate and collaborate with teams during design and development phases to ensure best practices.
• Mentor a team of Engineers (Junior to Senior) and improve software development processes.
• Evaluate, test, and provide technology and design recommendations to executives.
• Write detailed design documents and documentation on system design and implementation.
• Ensure the engineering teams can deliver quality software quickly and reliably.
• Enhance and maintain infrastructure and tooling for development, testing, and debugging.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related discipline.
• A proven ability to influence and guide teams toward good architectural choices.
• A collaborative working style to make impactful decisions with other engineers.
• A bias towards action to ensure progress is made efficiently.
• Flexibility to learn, adapt, and change as needed.

Technical Skills

• 3+ years of experience in release automation tooling, DevOps, CI/CD.
• 2+ years of experience in Python software development.
• 3+ years of experience in software delivery technologies like Jenkins, including CI/CD pipelines and build tools like Make, Gradle, NPM.
• Experience with Python packaging and deployment ecosystems, such as PyPI, venv, conda, pip.
• Experience with ML toolkits like MLflow or wandb.
• Experience with distributed compute/ETL tools such as Airflow, Celery, Prefect.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Groovy, Python, Bash.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
• Understanding of GitOps and ArgoCD concepts/workflows.
• Awareness of security and compliance aspects of DevSecOps.
