In our Perception and Prediction team, you'll get the chance to collaborate with world-class machine learning engineers and research scientists, whose aim is to make self-driving vehicles a reality and foster positive societal change. Our team handles the tech stack responsible for perceiving dynamic scenarios and predicting the behaviors of agents around our robo-taxi. We're on the hunt for engineers who are passionate about Level 5 autonomous driving, thrilled by intellectual challenges, and looking to advance their careers with a rapidly growing company.
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll exert project-level impact to improve the operation of our autonomous vehicles for comfortable, safe driving. On a daily basis, you will:
- Help shape and guide the team's direction based on technology and business needs.
- Connect and exert project-level impact through tech solutions.
- Define problems, design solutions, and create processes.
- Prototype, assess, implement, and improve solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge solutions and systems for autonomous vehicles.
- Implement and roll out solutions within autonomous vehicle fleets.
- Collaborate with team members and mentor junior engineers.
What We're Looking For:
- Masters or PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or a related field; or equivalent industry experience.
- Profound understanding of common Machine Learning and Deep Learning algorithms.
- Experience with designing, training, and evaluating neural networks for object detection, semantic/instance segmentation, visual classification, motion/gesture recognition, sensor fusion, multitask learning, motion prediction, and/or multi-object tracking.
- Proven success in addressing less well-defined problems and efficiently executing to deliver successful outcomes.
- Extensive knowledge of software engineering principles including software design, source control management, build processes, code reviews, and testing methods.
- Fluent in Python, including familiarity with standard scientific computing libraries and Python bindings development experience.
- Experience with PyTorch or other deep learning frameworks.
- Experience in handling large data sets and deriving insights from data.
- Experience in mentoring and team collaboration.
Bonus Points:
- Publications in relevant conferences such as CVPR, ICML, NeurIPS, ICCV, ICL, etc.
- PhD in machine learning, computer vision, or robotics vision.
- Experience in the field of autonomous vehicles or related areas.
- Experience in deploying models in real-world environments.
- Strong programming skills in C++ and/or CUDA programming.

This job's salary range, based on a variety of compensation factors, is estimated to fall between $136,500 and $225,000. Additional forms of compensation such as a bonus or company equity may be included. The specific compensation and benefit details for this position will be provided by the assigned recruiter during the hiring process.
