Role Overview

As a Senior Robotics Engineer at Aeva, you will play a crucial role in the development of algorithms focused on state estimation, localization, or mapping for mobile robots. This position involves defining architecture, designing, developing, and validating our groundbreaking state estimation algorithms. This role provides a unique opportunity to work with new and unique data streams, enabling the development of superior algorithm architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced state estimation algorithms utilizing point cloud data and inertial sensors.
  • Analyze sensor data to generate performance metrics for newly developed algorithms.
  • Create and maintain detailed architecture and design documentation.

What We Look For

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in robotics, focusing on problems such as state estimation, mapping, and localization.
  • Proficiency in handling 3D point clouds or depth images.
  • Advanced skills in programming languages C/C++ and Python.
  • Experience with Bayesian estimation techniques, e.g., EKF and UKF.
  • Strong foundation in linear algebra and 3D geometry.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex issues.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing SLAM algorithms using 3D point cloud data.
  • Knowledge of ROS or similar robotics frameworks.
  • Experience with CUDA parallel programming and point cloud registration.
  • Background in sensor fusion involving Lidar, GNSS, and IMU sensors.
