About the Role:

As the digital landscape evolves, the generation of machine log data increases, offering a unique opportunity to enhance operational visibility and infrastructure analysis in real-time. At Sumo Logic, we are seeking a skilled Machine Learning Engineer to tackle significant technical challenges, including ingestion, management, and interpretation of high-volume heterogeneous data streams through innovative ML-driven product capabilities.

In this role, you will be pivotal in driving the design and development stages of these capabilities, aiding our customers in unraveling complex data insights. This position covers the entire feature lifecycle, from ideation, dataset construction, and experimental validation to prototyping, production deployment, and operational management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and validate new opportunities for machine learning or data-driven applications.
• Evaluate requirements and strategize for large-scale data and ML platform components.
• Lead the technical aspects of feature development from conceptualization to deployment.
• Collaborate cross-functionally within and beyond the team to diagnose issues and design solutions.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 4-6 years of relevant industry experience with a track record of successful project delivery.
• Proven ability in transforming use cases into ML challenges and implementing ML models into production environments.
• Strong foundation in core machine learning concepts and statistics.
• Experience in developing production-grade services in cloud ecosystems.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with cloud-based application and infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in common ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, PyTorch) and tools (e.g., Airflow, MLFlow).
• Experience with cloud services like AWS Sagemaker.
• Knowledge of LLM core concepts and modern application design frameworks.
