Software Architect Embedded Base Software (POSIX) - Off-Road Robotics Core Team [BGSW]

Job expired!

Company Description

We are BGSW: The Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSW) Engineering Center in Poland has established a new Robotics & Autonomous Systems (RAS) Software Group. We are working on a portfolio of innovative autonomous systems projects in collaboration with multiple internal Bosch partners. Our site offers space for innovation, leisure areas, as well as state-of-the-art laboratory facilities for robotics development, including an industry-leading motion capture tracking system (currently under construction).

Our internal project partner - Bosch Rexroth - currently supplies Off-road vehicle OEMs (manufacturer of tractors, forklifts, excavators, possibly AGVs and other vehicles) with certified, safe ECUs and an extensive software portfolio that meet norm requirements from ISO 13849 Pl d. This allows customers to quickly develop and certify new solutions.

We foresee an increasing shift to higher autonomy functions in the off-road market starting now and becoming widespread by 2028.

The BODAS HW portfolio is being extended with a functionally safe performance ECU based on modern SoC & CPU. The BODAS SW portfolio is also being enhanced with a functionally safe POSIX operating system and applications that match and exceed the features and expectations of existing BODAS solutions for AUTOSAR, providing ROS 2 compatibility, and paving the way for resource-intensive perception/AI applications. Our OEM customers build vehicles based on the hardware/software platform we provide. They create their own applications using our APIs and software toolchain. The BODAS NextGen Controller will enable the rapid development of autonomous functions for their vehicles.

In this position, you will serve as the Architect and Tech Lead of the Base Software (BSW) Core Team working for our internal partner - Bosch Rexroth - on the BODAS NextGen Robotics Controller for Off-Highway Vehicles project. You will lead the architecture design and implementation of the complete base software (BSW) for the BODAS NextGen Robotics Controller for Off-Highway Vehicles. The BSW team will initially consist of 4-5 experts. The core challenge and scope of this role and the BSW team is to develop, document, implement and test complex concepts according to safety processes. This base software will be built for a chosen POSIX OS. Part of your role will also involve assisting in the preparation of demos for clients (vehicle OEMs).
