As part of this exciting growth, we are building a new engineering team in Islamabad, Pakistan. We are eager to welcome a Senior Data Engineer/Analyst to embark on what we like to call the Glow 2.0 journey.

The Role

As the inaugural Data Engineer at Glow, you will spearhead our mission to integrate data-driven methodologies into our decision-making processes. You will be entrusted with the architecture and operational management of data pipelines, and you will drive business, sales, and financial reporting throughout the organization.

Main Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the VP of Engineering and the Head of Finance, to design and deploy a configurable data pipeline.
• Take charge of data collection, clean-up, and transformation, utilizing advanced languages like Python, Perl, R, SQL, and Docker.
• Develop and implement intricate reporting and visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Domo, Power BI) to facilitate strategic executive decisions.
• Design and manage scalable, secure cloud-based data storage solutions, ensuring rigorous reliability and compliance standards are met.
• Partner with cloud infrastructure teams for the seamless deployment of data pipelines, leveraging tools such as Terraform for automation.
• Establish and uphold data governance frameworks to maintain data integrity and privacy across the company.
• Mentor junior data analysts, promoting a learning-centric environment within the team.
• Remain current with industry advancements and incorporate best practices in data analytics into Glow’s strategies.

Who We Are Looking For

Ideal candidates will possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in data handling and business intelligence, with a proficiency in Python, Perl, R, SQL, and Docker.
• Proven ability in developing and maintaining analytical solutions with tools like Excel, Looker, Tableau, Domo, or Power BI.
• Expert knowledge in creating and managing cloud data solutions, such as data lakes and warehousing systems.
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a knack for converting data into insightful, actionable outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with different stakeholders.
