About the Role: Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer at Haleon, you will innovate with the latest data platform technologies and be part of a high-performing team dedicated to your growth and development. This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to build with new technologies and gain proficiency in data and analytics.

You will work on integrating components, designing frameworks, and building reusable data solutions for our Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform, enabling faster data acquisition, ingestion, and curation. This is a hands-on development role, from code creation to production, collaborating with 3rd party service providers.

Key Responsibilities

Development

Engage in active development and delivery as a central part of your role.

Delivery

Ensure project goals are met on time, aligning with stakeholder expectations. Work efficiently on complex projects in a distributed environment, escalating issues timely. Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform team to represent Development/Delivery requirements.

Methodology

Incorporate agile methodologies utilizing DABL (Discovery, Alpha, Beta, Launch). Work within product-centric delivery teams to deliver value independently and embrace DevOps approaches.

Ownership

Take full ownership of delivery/development projects from initiation to completion.

Governance

Maintain governance to manage project performance and program risks. Stay flexible with technology approaches, stay updated on industry developments, and interpret their impact on our services.

Quality, Risk & Compliance

Manage project risks and issues effectively, ensuring clear action and mitigation plans.

Technical Architecture

Contribute to design discussions alongside the Delivery/Development Lead and the Analytics & Data Architect.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

• MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
• 5-8 years of data engineering experience; skilled in Python, SQL, Scala.
• Experience with Azure data and analytics stack: Databricks, Data Factory, SQL DW, Cosmos DB, Power BI, Power Apps.
• Experience with enterprise data tools: Ataccama, Talend, Collibra, Snowflake, StreamSets.
• Proficient in big-data processing approaches and schema-on-read methodologies; preferred expertise in Spark, Databricks, Delta Lake.
• Experience with Agile frameworks and tools: SAFe, Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps.
• Experience with developing reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using visualization tools.
• Experience deploying enterprise analytics solutions at scale, including administration and user access provisioning.
• Ability to articulate business value of analytics projects and advance solutions from MVP to production.
• Strong collaboration skills across IT and business stakeholders.
• Proven ability to maintain productive relationships with suppliers and technology providers.
• Outstanding communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
