Role Overview: Data Science Architect
As a Data Science Architect within the Commercial Strategic Data Management team for our Rare Disease Unit, you will be at the forefront of transforming and deploying innovative data solutions that directly impact patient outcomes. Your key responsibility will be utilizing the latest tools and technologies, along with advanced data engineering capabilities in Data Science and AI/ML, to establish a comprehensive platform and processes that drive business growth. This role involves close collaboration with the Advanced Analytics team, US Commercial leadership, Sales Field Team, and Field Operations, enhancing our data science and engineering capabilities to meet our commercial needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Commercial Multi-functional team to leverage internal and external data for business solutions.
- Work closely with business, IT, and analytical teams to drive complex data science solutions, supporting the Commercial Organization.
- Own the platform and processes for complex projects using data engineering and data science techniques.
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and data analytics strategies to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Acquire, maintain, and interpret data from various sources, identifying trends or patterns in complex data sets.
- Prioritize business and information needs with a solid understanding of Snowflake, SQL, Amazon S3, Oracle, and data integration tools (ETL).
- Build data pipelines and drive feature engineering, collecting, analyzing, and disseminating significant data accurately.
- Identify and implement new process improvement opportunities, supporting data solutions in BAU scenarios.
- Implement efficient Data Management, scale data transformation, and set up Workflow Orchestration for smooth automation.
Qualifications & Experience
- BS/MS in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Economics, etc.) with knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling.
- 5+ years of work experience with database skills such as SQL, Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, AWS cloud, Amazon S3, Oracle, Teradata, Power BI, and Python programming.
- Experience in healthcare or biopharmaceuticals, with strong communication skills and a willingness to work in a cross-cultural environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in support and maintenance projects, and the ability to communicate complex methods and results effectively.
- Hands-on experience with EHR, administrative claims, and laboratory data, and familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, Qlik Sense, Power BI, and Excel charts/reports.
- Knowledge of distributed computing, Big Data Technologies (Hive, Spark, Scala), statistical tools (Python/R), and experience with Github, API REST services, Data Tokenization, and Salesforce/Veeva CRM.
- Preferred experience with data governance, distributed computing, big data technologies, Python/R, GitHub, Data Tokenization, and Salesforce/Veeva CRM.
