Your Role

As a Data Solutions Specialist, you will be pivotal in shaping our data ecosystems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and optimize data pipelines, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.

Professional Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:

Primary Skills

• Proven experience (2 years or more) in data engineering or related roles.
• Expertise in building data pipelines on top of popular data stacks (Snowflake, AWS, Palantir Foundry, etc.).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar programming languages.
• Experience with data processing tools like DBT, Alteryx, Dataiku, etc.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Qliksense.
• Exposure to AWS data services (ETL tools, Lambda, S3, RDS/CosmosDB, etc.).
• Good understanding of Data Management (Data Catalog, Data Quality, etc.).

Secondary Skills

• Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify business problems addressable through data solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for cross-functional teamwork and explaining technical concepts clearly.
• Experience in GBS functions or similar shared services environments is a plus.
• Adaptability to work in a dynamic, research-oriented team with multiple projects.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in data technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering

• Develop and maintain efficient ETL processes for various domains.
• Collaborate with data architects and data owners to design scalable data models.
• Implement data transformations and aggregations.

Data Platform Expertise

• Build data pipelines using cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Palantir Foundry).
• Optimize data storage and retrieval mechanisms.

Data Quality Assurance

• Implement data validation checks.
• Monitor data quality and address anomalies promptly.
• Generate reports based on metrics defined by Enterprise Data Management.

Database Management

• Knowledge of both relational databases (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases.

Cloud Experience

• Experience with cloud computing platforms, particularly AWS.

Data Modelling and Architecture

• Understanding of data modeling techniques and principles.

Collaboration and Communication

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences.
