The Advanced Technology Group (ATG) is Dolby's cutting-edge research division. Our researchers possess a wide range of expertise across computer science and electrical engineering disciplines, including AI/ML, algorithms, digital signal processing, audio engineering, image processing, computer vision, data science & analytics, distributed systems, cloud, edge & mobile computing, computer networking, and IoT.

Position: 3D Senior Computer Vision Researcher

As a Researcher, you will leverage your expertise in computer vision and deep learning technologies to contribute to Dolby's groundbreaking projects. Your knowledge in multi-view geometry, object recognition and detection, 3D scene representation and rendering, and signal/image/video processing, coupled with deep learning, will be essential. Your keen awareness of the trade-offs between computational complexity and performance will guide your decisions. You will develop new neural network architectures, innovative training methods, representation, and processing algorithms in the realm of modern computer vision.

  • Understand competitive technologies within your focus area.
  • Analyze system contexts to determine technology requirements for success.
  • Develop early-stage conceptual models that showcase feasibility.
  • Document and present new architectures and algorithms through technical white papers and internal meetings.
  • Uphold the highest standards of technical and moral integrity in the workplace and marketplace.

What You'll Need

  • Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Experience in developing algorithms for machine learning and deep learning, computer vision, 3D scene representation, and view synthesis.
  • Expertise in computer graphics, video processing systems, and related software in both consumer and professional products.
  • Proficiency in Matlab, C/C++, OpenCV, and Python (TensorFlow/PyTorch) for computer vision applications.
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, and strong team player with minimal supervision required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Experience in filing patents for newly developed technologies.
  • Hands-on experience applying Computer Vision and Machine Learning algorithms to real-world problems.
  • Proven track record of successful research accomplishments, published papers, and/or patent applications in computer vision and computer graphics.

Compensation

The base salary range for this full-time position in the Atlanta Area is $144,600-$176,700. Salaries may vary based on location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and market demands. We also offer bonuses, benefits, and, for certain roles, equity options.
