Our Assisted and Automated Driving Development (AAD) team in Munich is at the forefront of innovating software modules and technologies to enhance the driving experience and achieve the goal of autonomous driving. We are currently seeking a:
AAD Perception Engineer - Radar Expert (m/f/d)
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage your expertise in Radar/RSP approaches to support the ADAS/AD team, drawing comparisons with other sensor technologies.
- Write and manage Radar subsystem requirements effectively.
- Assist in the development of Radar request for quotation (RFQ).
- Collaborate with multiple partners to ensure the optimal integration of Radar components, expanding knowledge on sensor advantages and disadvantages to enhance overall system performance.
- Define Radar Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and monitor their progression during development and integration.
- Determine necessary noise factor compensation measures.
- Contribute to defining sensor tests, end-of-line calibration, and diagnostic strategies.
- Support the implementation of sensor simulations and hardware tests, including test drives to capture real customer experiences in our high-quality products.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Degree in electrical engineering, HF engineering, physics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Radar field.
- Strong knowledge of Radar physics and technology.
- Understanding of noise factors affecting automotive Radars.
- Experience in writing requirements and RFQ development.
- Proficiency in SCRUM/Agile methodologies.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Resilient and enthusiastic individual who welcomes new ideas.
- Ability to prioritize workload efficiently.
- Strong communicator capable of explaining complex ideas.
- Effective team player who supports colleagues.
- Highly creative individual with lateral thinking capabilities.
- Desirable: Knowledge in developing perception algorithms for ADAS/autonomous driving with Radar and fused data.
- Desirable: Experience with software development in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB.
