The Role

As an AI Research Engineer at Helsing, you will develop AI-based capabilities and enabling infrastructure for semi-autonomous platforms, allowing them to navigate and perceive the world in real-time. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI in one of the most demanding sectors, focusing on high performance and robustness against adversarial attacks.

The Day-to-Day

• Develop advanced ML/AI methods and architectures.
• Design experiments and benchmark AI systems to improve real-world performance.
• Collaborate with diverse teams to integrate cutting-edge AI in production systems.

What We’re Looking For

You should apply if you:

• Hold an MSc in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, or a related field with experience in advanced AI systems development.
• Have excellent communication skills for clear internal and external reporting and presentations.
• Stay current with research and enjoy reimplementing and extending state-of-the-art deep learning approaches.
• Boast solid software engineering skills, writing clean code in Python and languages like Rust, Java, or modern C++, and have experience deploying AI software to production.

Nice to Have

• PhD in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, or a related field with publications in top-tier journals and conferences (e.g., CVPR, NeurIPS, ICLR).
• Experience designing and delivering AI methods on edge devices with limited compute resources.
• Experience with simulators, emulators, or synthetic data generators.
