Our division is dedicated to major innovations in Responsible AI, striving to shape a progressive future by merging AI technologies with ethical frameworks.

Our FAIR team is proud to have published influential research and developed tools such as the LLaMa family of Large Language Models, which greatly enhance the open-source community. Collaborating with Meta Generative AI among others, we continue to transition cutting-edge research into real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

As an AI Research Scientist, you will:

• Publish advanced research on responsible AI, focusing on the social impact of AI technologies.
• Conduct independent research on how sociotechnical systems affect diverse social groups.
• Contribute high-quality, open-source code and reproducible research results to enhance community resources.

Minimum Qualifications

Prospective candidates should:

• Possess or be in the process of obtaining a PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, or Computer Science. Candidates from various disciplines with a strong background in statistics and machine learning are encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrate a deep interest in cross-disciplinary communication and research in socio-technical systems and responsible AI.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal applicants will have:

• A proven track record of substantial achievements, as evidenced by grants, fellowships, or notable publications in forums like FAccT and AIES.
• Experience contributing to affinity workshops at prominent machine learning conferences, such as NeurIPS or ICML.
