We are seeking an experienced kernel development engineer to join our Client AI team that provides fundamental AI software capabilities (ex. DirectML) on Intel's client GPUs (integrated and discrete) for the Windows operating system. Our team also offers driver and runtime support for other AI uses on Intel GPUs (for example, Intel XeSS). We also manage performance benchmarking and analysis of AI/ML applications for hardware/software architecture studies and co-optimizations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Development and optimization of AI kernels using C for Metal and OpenCL
- Development and optimization of ML Primitives (including DirectML metacommands) for Intel GPUs
- Development of compute driver features for Intel GPUs
- Implementation of crucial features in the AI software stack and debugging issues between hardware, driver, operating system, game titles, and applications
- Performance benchmarking, analysis, and optimization of AI applications including competitive analysis; supporting prospective architecture studies with software/hardware architecture teams
Qualifications:
- A degree in Computer science or related areas with 4+ years of industry experience
- Experience with performance benchmarking, performance profiling, and workload analysis
- Experience in low-level software optimizations to maximize hardware utilization
- Experience in kernel development, ex: C for Metal, OpenCL, CUDA, etc.
- Expertise in optimization techniques for neural networks
- Knowledge of computer graphics and deep learning accelerator architectures
- Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Experience with mid-level AI frameworks like DirectML, OneDNN, Metal Performance Shaders, or TensorRT
- Experience in Windows device driver or embedded software development, knowledge of the Intel graphics driver
- Understanding of 3D Graphics (including DX11/12 and/or Vulkan)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
