Position Summary: Samsung Research UK is actively seeking talented AI Software Engineers to join our innovative team in Staines-upon-Thames. This role involves integrating cutting-edge AI research into proof-of-concept and commercial products, enhancing the capabilities of Samsung devices and services. You will play a crucial role in developing next-generation mobile technologies and deploying on-device AI across Samsung’s flagship products.

Role and Responsibilities

As an AI Software Engineer, your duties will include:

• Developing features and functionalities throughout the AI stack, from framework to applications, tailored for on-device execution.
• Proposing and prototyping innovative solutions with a realistic perspective.
• Participating in software architecture planning and employing robust software engineering practices.
• Staying up-to-date with advanced tools, techniques, and frameworks in AI.
• Managing technical aspects of project sections and transforming complex requirements into detailed designs.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.
• Proven software development expertise with modern C++.
• Hands-on experience with GPU computing in CUDA/OpenCL.
• A strong grasp of linear algebra and essential computer science and engineering fundamentals.
• Familiarity with software engineering tools such as Git, CI, Agile methodologies, and package managers.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, problem-solving capabilities, and a results-driven mindset.

Desirable:

• Understanding of computer vision fundamentals.
• Experience with LLVM compiler.
• Background in commercial or production-level AI implementations.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Kotlin.

Contract Type and Work Policy

This is a 6-month contract position inside IR35, located in Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK. We offer a flexible hybrid work policy, allowing you to work onsite for three days and from home for two days a week, if preferred.
