Established at Stanford University, Walaris produces autonomous AI-based solutions with a focus on enhancing situational awareness. Our AirScout software uses artificial intelligence, sensor fusion and edge computing to detect, categorize, and track unwanted drones infiltrating protected airspace. Our advanced technology is used by commercial, governmental and military entities to enhance airspace awareness around sensitive locations.

Our AI / CV Engineers are the core of our company, utilizing up-to-date technologies to overcome technical challenges. They create real-time machine learning & image processing systems and continuously devise new concepts to generate innovative software solutions. They work collaboratively in multifunctional, international teams to surpass our customers' expectations.

We are currently searching for an AI/Computer Vision Systems Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Nuremberg or Munich office as soon as possible:

Responsibilities:

  • As a systems engineer, you will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of internal and external experts to develop solutions to challenges that push the boundaries of what is technically and physically plausible, aiming to provide our clients with the most effective artificial intelligence solutions for situational awareness available.
  • In collaboration with the client and internal stakeholders, you will develop and evaluate system concepts tailored to the customer's specific requirements. You are the team's driving force for utilizing advanced AI and computer vision strategies to create the highest value in interdisciplinary projects. Your extensive knowledge allows you to facilitate the dialogue among contributing disciplines and conceptualize and select appropriate solutions.
  • You will be responsible for elicitation, analysis and management of system requirements, the development of system architecture, and strategies for system verifications.
  • You will assume technical leadership, planning, managing and evaluating internal and external work. Furthermore, you will aid in customer communication and supervision of subcontractors and partners.

Requirements:

  • A degree in engineering, science or a similar field, e.g., aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, physics or computer science, serves as a good foundation for success in our company.
  • We expect at least five years of relevant professional experience in defining and implementing complex technical systems, ideally in an industry with systematic product development such as aerospace, defense or medical engineering. Involvement with modern AI and computer vision methods would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering tools and methods is required, as well as experience in requirements engineering, verification planning and systems engineering using models and architecture modeling. Familiarity with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 standards would be ideal.
  • You should enjoy and excel at working in complex systems and abstract contexts and on collaborative and multidisciplinary projects.
  • Additionally, you enjoy teamwork, excellent written and spoken English skills are essential, and the willingness to use these skills in an international environment is a must. A proficiency in German, or the willingness to learn and rapidly improve your German language skills, would also be beneficial.
