Analyst, Data Management Operations - 12 Month Contract

The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan is seeking a dedicated Analyst for our Data Management Operations team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the sustainable quality of our security master, legal entity, market, and reference data assets.

The Opportunity

As an Analyst in Data Management Operations, you will provide support to various systems for the collection, validation, archiving, and distribution of critical data. Your responsibilities will involve completing tasks related to testing, documentation, data validation, and input for traded instruments such as equities, fixed income, options, futures, FX, and complex derivatives.

Who You'll Work With

You will collaborate closely with Financial Operations, Capital Markets, Investment Finance, Compliance, and Information Technology teams. This role also includes liaising with internal and external service providers to meet the Plan’s evolving requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily data management operations and ensure overnight processing completion.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve data issues in collaboration with internal and external teams.
  • Maintain and update comprehensive documentation and provide assistance to team members.
  • Manage data exceptions and ensure accuracy through stringent controls and reconciliations.
  • Generate and review metric reports using Business Intelligence Applications.
  • Support project and change management initiatives under the guidance of the Manager or Senior Manager.
  • Investigate and implement efficiency improvements for the unit.
  • Produce standard reports for internal and audit purposes.
  • Offer global data expertise and respond to internal client inquiries professionally and timely.
  • Engage with internal and external suppliers for necessary information.
  • Maximize the use of technology in all work processes and contribute constructively to operations.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge in security master, legal entities, pricing, corporate actions, and reference data.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SQL, and Python; familiarity with Microsoft Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate, Copilot, and Confluence is an asset.
  • Experience with third-party data vendors like Bloomberg and asset management systems such as Markit EDM, Charles River, and SimCorp.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Canadian Securities Course or professional designation (CFA, CPA, FRM) is an asset.
