Current Opportunity: Data Analyst
Aecon Civil is renowned for its core local strength and self-perform competitive advantage in key markets. As we continue to expand and improve Canada's infrastructure, we are seeking a Data Analyst to join our head office team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain KPIs and supporting metrics to track project performance.
- Develop standardized reporting requirements with functional leads.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders for performance reporting data and updates.
- Support the use of reporting, cost, scheduling, financial, and other operational systems.
- Create reporting dashboards for operational and business insights.
- Implement and continuously improve the Performance Management Framework.
- Analyze and report on project goals, engineering, construction progress, and financial performance.
- Develop periodic and ad hoc performance reporting packages.
- Contribute to evidence-based decision-making to optimize project performance.
- Analyze data from various sources (SAP, Primavera P6, InEight, etc.) to identify challenges and opportunities.
- Experience with data platforms like Microsoft Power BI, Databricks, Apache Spark, Snowflake.
- Familiarity with data integration, ETL, and visualization tools.
- Strong understanding of data governance, quality, and security best practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum of six years’ related experience or equivalent education and experience in construction projects and performance management.
- Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related disciplines.
- Organizational skills for handling multiple tasks in high-pressure environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense, SQL, DAX, Python, R, SAP Webi, or other analytics tools.
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM) best practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across various business units.
- Commitment to continuous learning and technical skills advancement.
- Detail-oriented and ability to travel to project sites.
- Valid G driver's license and access to a vehicle.
