Resource Innovations is currently in search of a highly motivated and mission-oriented Data Analyst with experience in data analytics and visualization. As a Data Analyst with Resource Innovations, your primary responsibilities will involve detailed analytical reporting as well as software platform support used to manage energy efficiency program offerings. The perfect candidate should possess the following:
  • Practical experience with these tools: Excel, Access, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, RedShift, Python.
  • First-hand skills in data mining, data analysis, data visualization, and both relational and dimensional databases.
  • An ability to present data analysis in a concise, meaningful, and actionable manner.
  • Experience in the energy industry (e.g. energy efficiency, environmental science, sustainability) is preferred.
The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, reliable, and punctual, showing initiative and follow-through and able to work collaboratively with team members on numerous tasks. Strong technical, problem-solving, and oral communication skills are essential.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop showy, interactive graphics and data visualizations for large amounts of data to help present and report energy program data.
  • Solve business issues by designing and customizing data reports that meet business requirements using established best practices, corporate standards, and the latest technology. Outline various approaches and recommend the best option.
  • Create interactive dashboards in Tableau for both internal and external use.
  • Be an advocate for best practices in information delivery, data visualization techniques, analytics dashboard design, and infographic displays, providing guidance on visualization tool capabilities and functionalities.
  • Become proficient in, operate, and integrate with the company's proprietary computer software.
  • Maintain quality control of all deliverables, showing technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity.
  • Ensure schedules are adhered to and accurately track project billable hours.
  • Support the team under the program manager's direction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree (GPA 3.5 or higher) in statistics, math, computer science, data science, engineering, or economics. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience can be considered.
  • Experience with Excel, Access, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, RedShift, Python.
  • Hands-on skills in data mining, data analysis, data visualization, and both relational and dimensional databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite of applications.
  • At least 1 year of Data Analysis experience is required.
  • Preferred experience in the energy-related sector.
  • An ability to present data analysis in a concise, meaningful, and actionable manner.
  • An aptitude for learning, operating, and integrating with the company's proprietary software.
  • Experience and skill in working in a team environment, coordinating efficiently with project stakeholders and promoting synergy with co-workers in business solutions.
  • Excellent oral communication, technical writing, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, follow-through, and time management.
