About the Opportunity

As an Applied Research Scientist at GTAR, your mission will be to drive advancements in quantum-inspired and randomized algorithms. These innovations will assist in solving complex optimization and machine learning challenges across various financial applications. We value candidates who are ready to contribute their expertise to develop next-generation solutions that will benefit our clients and the firm broadly.

Key Responsibilities

You will be instrumental in:

  • Advancing the field of quantum-inspired and randomized algorithms.
  • Developing high-performance software to implement the newest algorithms.
  • Identifying and solving critical research issues for internal project teams.
  • Collaborating with other experts to publish and present scientific findings.
  • Enhancing JPMC’s intellectual property through strategic protection of innovations.

What We Look For

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Math, Engineering, or a related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven leadership in managing research projects focusing on quantum computing or related areas.
  • Strong abilities in scientific writing and presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Technical proficiency in Python or C/C++, with extensive experience in developing performance-conscious code.

Desirable Skills

While not mandatory, additional consideration will be given to candidates who demonstrate:

  • A robust publication record in notable scientific forums.
  • Expertise in GPU programming and other specific domains related to quantum-inspired and randomized algorithms.
