Amazon's Project Kuiper aims to revolutionize global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Our mission is to provide fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities worldwide, helping to bridge the digital divide. As an Applied Scientist on our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the algorithms and software services that power one of the world's largest satellite constellations. Your work will involve:
This role will interface with various subsystems within Project Kuiper and Amazon, as well as external organizations, enabling engineers to manage the satellite constellation safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and able to work independently while managing multiple tasks. Proven knowledge of mathematical modeling and optimization, along with strong software engineering skills, is essential. The candidate should also be able to understand customer requirements, use data-driven approaches to identify potential solutions, select the best approach, and deliver high-quality applications.

The Constellation Management & Space Safety team is responsible for maintaining the software services that provide situational awareness of the Kuiper satellites.
