Position Description

We are seeking a visionary Artificial Intelligence Architect who will spearhead the integration of AI technologies into NIA's business processes. This role involves collaborating with leadership to identify opportunities, researching ethical and legal challenges, and developing strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

Thought Leadership

• Identify opportunities for AI integration within NIA business processes by collaborating with leadership.
• Research and provide guidance on ethical and legal challenges of AI in government.
• Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic AI objectives.

Artificial Intelligence Platform

• Conduct market research to evaluate the feasibility of various AI platforms.
• Perform “alpha” testing and recommend suitable AI platforms for NIA.

Critical Thinking & Analysis

• Break down complex problems into manageable components for development teams or client presentations.

Digital Whiteboarding Tools

• Utilize digital whiteboarding tools (Visio, Adobe XD, PowerPoint, Figma) in virtual meetings for centralized reference points.
• Adapt and modify whiteboard sessions in real-time based on user input to generate documentation.

Azure DevOps, Documentation & Communication

• Administer Work Item Management platforms such as Azure DevOps.
• Run meetings, manage queries, and keep work items updated.
• Develop user guides and documentation for NIA applications.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with teams to refine and iterate beneficial ideas.
• Serve as a liaison between stakeholders to clarify and articulate AI application design and implementation.

Requirements

• Background in software development or Data Science
• Experience with AI cloud platforms such as Azure, Google, AWS, and NVIDIA
• Proficient in Python libraries like PyPDF, pandas, nltk, spacy, openai, and jinja2
• Familiarity with various AI models (Embedding, Llama, GPT, Mistral, etc.)
• Experience in building Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) applications using Azure services or LangChain
• Knowledge of Azure Search, indexes, vector indexes, and indexers
• Proficiency in using Azure AI Prompt Flow
• Experience with Azure AI Studio components, jobs, and pipelines
• Securing Azure AI and ML endpoints using Identity and Access Management (IAM)
• Skills in instruction-based prompt engineering, zero-shot, and few-shot learning

Compensation

Salary Ranges: $100,000 - $200,000
