We are seeking a skilled Municipal Research Analyst to become part of the esteemed Global Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities team (GFICC) at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. This opportunity places you at the heart of one of the world's most thoroughly equipped fixed income teams, involved in shaping investment strategies across diverse fixed income sectors including emerging markets and structured products.

About Your New Role

As a Municipal Research Analyst within our dynamic Municipal Fixed Income Research team, you will collaborate extensively with top-tier Analysts, Portfolio Managers, and Investment Specialists. Your primary focus will be to assess municipal securities, focusing on investment potential and effective management, utilizing our cutting-edge research frameworks and extensive global resources.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and issue buy/sell recommendations for municipal securities based on detailed credit discussions and exhaustive credit reports.
• Independently assess credit risk for issuers to pinpoint investment opportunities using an innovative approach.
• Conduct thorough due diligence both before and after issuance, including engaging with municipal issuers, investment bankers, and conducting site visits (requires some domestic travel).
• Keep abreast of market trends and sector developments to enhance investment strategies.
• Maintain surveillance and deliver ongoing recommendations for investments using our proprietary internal credit database.
• Develop and sustain professional relationships with a network of investment bankers, analysts, broker-dealers, rating agencies, and legal experts.

Who We Are Looking For

Candidates should have:

• 3-5 years of experience in credit analysis, particularly in municipal securities.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
• Strong capabilities in financial analysis, including cash flow modeling and advanced GAAP/GASB knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and succinctly.
• Resistance to high-pressure, time-sensitive environments.
• A CFA certification or current candidacy is highly preferred.
