Job Title: Associate, Applied Analytics

Job Duties:

As an Associate in Applied Analytics, you will:

  • Develop analytics and technical solutions in line with the firm’s strategic focus areas, including whole portfolio construction.
  • Create desk side applications, analytic insights, and models to scale the investment process, support product selection, and drive sales enablement.
  • Collaborate with technology departments to transform tactical solutions into scalable, commercial products.
  • Build inclusive teams, influence key partners and project sponsors to achieve greater consensus.
  • Respond to stakeholder and partner inquiries and serve as a subject matter expert in Sustainable and Alternative Investing.
  • Work in-office four days a week and remotely for two days.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in similar fields with additional experience.

Experience:

  • 1 year of experience as an Investment Analyst, or a related role (with a Master’s degree).
  • 3 years of experience as an Investment Analyst, or a related role (with a Bachelor’s degree).
  • Experience with Python, R, Data Visualization (Tableau and PowerBI).
  • Experience in risk analytics, pricing, and portfolio risk and return reports for alternative investment positions/products.
  • Capability in analyzing investment portfolios, performing scenario and stress testing using factor-based risk and return models.
  • Performance and attribution analysis on returns, alpha, tracking error, and other analytics.
  • Experience in data gathering for investment decisions and ETL processes using R and SQL.
  • Reporting with visual performance and risk results using R, Python, and Tableau.
  • Factor Attribution Modeling, performance reporting, and factor attribution analysis for return and risk analysis using R.

Compensation:

In California, the salary range for this position is $138,200 - $157,500. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock follows a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy.
