KIPP TEAM & Family is the central hub supporting a network of schools dedicated to empowering students in New Jersey and Miami. Our mission-oriented support teams, including Leadership Development, Recruitment, Advocacy, Facilities, Finance, and HR, ensure the success of KIPP students. As part of the nationally recognized "Knowledge Is Power Program" (KIPP), we strive to provide high-quality, college-preparatory education.

Since our first school in Newark opened in 2002, we have grown to serve over 8,135 students in grades K-12. By 2025, KIPP New Jersey aims to educate more than 10,300 students across fifteen schools in Newark and five in Camden. In 2018, we expanded to Miami, serving over 1,000 students across four schools with plans to reach 5,800 students by 2025. Job Opportunity: Associate, Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Strategy

KIPP TEAM & Family, a leading network of public charter schools in New Jersey and Miami, is seeking a motivated and talented Associate to join our dynamic Artificial Intelligence team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to help drive innovative AI initiatives that enhance educational outcomes and operational efficiency.

Job Responsibilities

Fundraising and Campaign Development

• Conduct research and analysis to support AI fundraising campaigns aiming to raise $500,000 - $1,000,000 in the 2024-2025 year.
• Collaborate with the Director of AI Innovation & Strategy to cultivate relationships with potential donors, including foundations, corporations, and individual philanthropists.
• Write compelling grant proposals aligned with the strategic goals of KIPP TEAM & Family.
• Manage a portfolio of grant opportunities, tracking deadlines, submission requirements, and reporting obligations.
• Use AI tools to improve fundraising processes and systems for better donor engagement and grant management.
• Coordinate fundraising events, webinars, and other initiatives to engage donors and showcase AI-driven impact.
• Monitor and evaluate fundraising strategies and campaigns, providing regular updates to senior leadership.
• Create compelling materials such as case studies, impact reports, and campaign updates to support fundraising efforts.

Research and Synthesis of Findings

• Conduct rigorous research on AI initiatives, exploring successful applications in education and related sectors.
• Analyze and synthesize findings to identify potential AI use cases applicable to KIPP TEAM & Family.
• Collaborate to design, conduct, and publish internal case studies on AI use cases and opportunities.
• Develop a research plan and publish at least 12 research papers annually focused on innovative AI applications in education.
• Engage with academic and industry experts to stay updated on the latest educational AI research and trends.
• Prepare detailed research reports and presentations to share findings with stakeholders.
• Facilitate knowledge sharing by presenting research findings at internal meetings, conferences, and workshops.
• Support the creation of a repository of research resources and best practices for AI integration in education.

Privacy and Security Research

• Work with teams to research best practices for AI tool implementation, ensuring data privacy and security.
• Assist in developing data governance policies that align with ethical standards and legal requirements.
• Stay updated on emerging trends in AI, data privacy, and cybersecurity.

AI Integration and Support

• Shadow teachers and support staff to identify the best AI tools to support educational activities.
• Spend time in schools to understand school culture, operations, and needs.
• Gather and analyze data to support recommendations for AI solutions.
• Work with educational leaders and IT teams for smooth AI tool integration.

Technical Support

• Serve as a liaison for the data and technology teams to ensure AI tools are implemented, managed, and maintained properly.
• Provide Tier 1 support for AI systems, addressing troubleshooting, system issues, and basic staff support.
