Role Purpose

The primary purpose of the Associate Consultant in Business Intelligence is to conduct thorough open-source intelligence (OSINT) collection and analysis to support intricate client projects. You will find yourself deeply involved in investigative due diligence, threat analysis, and forensic investigations. Additionally, your contributions will be crucial in strategic intelligence assessments critical for M&A activities, market entries, and dispute resolutions among others. A sound understanding of the business and political environment in Australia is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intelligence Collection, Research, and Analysis: Harness OSINT, social media intelligence (SOCMINT), and public records to deliver high-quality analysis. Discover new information sources and refine information-gathering capabilities in consulting contexts. Offer guidance on the use of public records, advising on cost-effective and efficient research strategies.
  • Consulting Duties: Collaborate closely with other Consultants to develop persuasive reports that aid client decision-making. Ensure timely delivery of these documents, maintaining high standards and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Marketing and Business Development: Conduct research and prepare detailed briefs to assist with marketing and business development endeavors.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Robust passion for OSINT and internet research.
  • Exceptional investigative research and writing skills.
  • Adept at summarizing and communicating complex data clearly.
  • Understanding of commercial transactions like IPOs, M&A, and joint ventures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with corporate documentation.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in OSINT, protective intelligence, or related analyst roles.
  • Skills in social media research and the use of pertinent tools.
  • Aptitude in data analysis and visual representation of data.
  • Experience with specialized corporate and media databases.
  • Background in professional services.
