Position Summary

As an Associate Data Engineer, you will analyze complex data structures from disparate sources and design large-scale data engineering pipelines. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Developing large-scale data structures and pipelines to generate insights and meet reporting requirements.
• Writing ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designing database systems, and developing tools for real-time and offline analytic processing.
• Implementing data quality checks to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Documenting data engineering processes, workflows, and systems for reference and knowledge-sharing.
• Using programming skills in Teradata BTEQ, SQL, PySpark, Python, or other major languages to build robust data pipelines.
• Building scalable and extensible data marts and data models to support descriptive, data science, and other internal customers on the cloud.
• Integrating data from various sources while adhering to data quality and accessibility standards.
• Analyzing IT environments to identify critical capabilities and recommend solutions.
• Experimenting with tools and advising on optimal solutions according to requirements.
• Collaborating with team members for business solutions and implementation.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ months of progressively complex related experience in cloud data engineering and data analysis.
• 6+ months of experience with programming languages such as SQL, Python, PySpark, and Teradata BTEQ.
• 6+ months of experience with cloud technology; Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred.
• 6+ months of experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities, and UNIX commands.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to understand complex systems and solve challenging analytical problems.
• Proficiency in multiple tools and programming languages to analyze and manipulate data sets from disparate sources.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills within and across teams.

Education

A minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering is required; a master's degree is preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is $61,800.00 - $123,600.00. The actual base salary offer will depend on various factors including experience, education, and geography. This position is also eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program.
