Key Responsibilities
As an Associate Data Engineer at RTX, you will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and design data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and transforming data from various sources.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes to ensure efficient data extraction and loading.
- Implement data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency of data.
- Develop scalable ETL pipelines for business consumption, establishing patterns for repeatable ETL work that can be leveraged by others.
- Implement data governance and master data management principles across various projects.
- Collaborate with global business teams to understand problems and design scalable solutions.
- Identify and understand necessary data sources for projects and efficient ways to clean and transform the data.
- Work with Global Technology to ensure solutions adhere to current standards and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and build new skills in data engineering, technologies, and platforms.
Basic Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- B.E in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with 4+ years of relevant engineering experience OR an Advanced Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics with 2+ years of relevant engineering experience.
- 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a strong track record of designing and implementing data solutions.
- Hands-on experience with data warehousing technologies (e.g., Databricks, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Azure Synapse) and ETL tools (e.g., Fivetran, SSIS, AWS Glue, Qlik Replicate).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven experience in fostering collaboration and alignment across diverse teams.
- Self-starter with a high level of intellectual curiosity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications include:
- Experience in Aerospace & Defense Processes from Design to Manufacturing to After Sales & Support.
- Broad understanding of gas turbine engine fundamentals and associated components.
- Knowledge and experience in Data Governance, Architecture, and Platforms.
- A strong learner who is comfortable with new libraries and frameworks.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
Role Type: Hybrid - Employees in Hybrid roles will work both onsite and offsite regularly.
