Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Data Scientist to lead the development and delivery of core data science and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in statistics, AI, ML, and domain expertise in areas such as Aircraft Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales, or Manufacturing. Proficiency in Python or Java, and a minimum of 5+ years of experience in image processing and computer vision, are essential.

Job Role and Responsibilities

• Evaluate business objectives, identify stakeholder requirements, and choose the best-fit methods for developing and deploying models.
• Collaborate with senior business leaders and stakeholders to architect and implement advanced analytics solutions across various domains like Aircraft operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Safety.
• Provide mentoring and technical leadership to the data scientist community, promoting the adoption of advanced analytics methods both within Boeing and externally.
• Engage with stakeholders to identify and implement enterprise-wide analytics applications, capturing significant business value.
• Ensure that analytics solutions meet business requirements and are implemented in a timely manner to validate their business impact.
• Work with cross-functional teams to analyze complex data sets using advanced analytics techniques, developing reusable and scalable solutions.

ML/AI Models Development

• Analyze highly complex data sets using techniques like machine learning, advanced statistical analysis, visual analysis, text analysis, mathematical optimization, and simulation.
• Follow standardized processes for model validation and refinement, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
• Assess and confirm model performance and ensure business objectives are met through sustained analytics solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in computer vision and image processing.
• 5+ years of overall work experience post-Bachelor’s degree or 4+ years post-Master’s degree or 3+ years post-PhD.
• Expertise in various machine learning techniques such as regression, clustering, classification, decision trees, NLP, ensemble methods, SVM, deep learning, reinforcement learning, etc.
• Experience with open source libraries including SciKit-Learn, Keras, TensorFlow, Theano, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in agile and product-oriented development.
• Industry experience in building and deploying ML models.
• Strong technical and project management skills with experience in customer-facing projects.
• Experience with cloud computing environments like AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, etc.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Scala.
• Experience with statistical software (e.g., R, MATLAB) and database languages (e.g., SQL).
• Knowledge in DevOps for Data Science.
