About the Role

Our R&I Biometrics team is dedicated to developing innovative treatments for Respiratory and Immunology (R&I) diseases. In this role, you will be part of a global, diverse, and cross-functional environment that offers personal and professional development.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

As the Associate Director of Data Science, you will:

• Direct the preparation of data-driven insights for business decision-makers to develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness, and predict business outcomes.
• Drive the analysis of data to support processes through identifying, analyzing, and interpreting trends or patterns. Prepare ongoing reports and data visualizations for complex data storytelling.
• Coordinate the creation, maintenance, and/or improvement of exploratory and predictive analytics statistical models for ongoing and ad hoc data review and analysis.
• Coordinate the implementation of analytical and data visualization solutions within the project's defined scope, using business intelligence applications and/or cloud services.
• Translate business problems into appropriate analytics problems and solutions within the project scope.
• Communicate results clearly and objectively, including associated uncertainties and limitations.
• Provide expertise in exploratory, descriptive, and predictive data analytics to cross-functional projects to shape and deliver solutions that drive business value.
• Develop visualizations and tools for innovative and complex analytical solutions.
• Ensure work is delivered to robust quality standards within the defined scope.
• Develop, implement, and maintain tools that meet regulatory and evidential requirements within the project scope.
• Lead small (2-3 person) projects of a defined scope.

Essential Requirements

We are looking for someone who is focused on solving challenging problems through collaboration and partnerships. Our ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent years of experience.
• Knowledge of data analytic and Business Intelligence tools such as R, Python, Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView, and/or experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (including Power Apps and Power Automate).
• Familiarity with database systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, graph).
• Advanced ability to draw conclusions from data and present them succinctly to stakeholders.
• Experience in the complex analysis of data in applied business and/or scientific application domains.
• Software development skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skills.
• Good understanding of at least one business area where data science is applied.

Desirable Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Comfortable working in a high-performance computing or cloud environment.
• Experience in life sciences and healthcare.
