Responsibilities

As the Associate Director, Process Development Lead – Data Science, you will:

  • Design, implement, and optimize processes supporting the Enterprise Data Science Council (EDSC).
  • Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and other leaders to draft data usage policies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and improve data governance processes to enhance data quality, integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Ensure process compliance with relevant regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, EMA, GMP, GCP, GLP).
  • Work with various departments to ensure seamless process integration and change management.
  • Develop training programs supporting council objectives.
  • Provide expertise in AI governance to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI technologies.
  • Support R&D Quality functions during audits and assessments to identify and mitigate data risks.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • 8+ Years with MS/MA or MBA
  • 10+ Years with BS/BA
  • Passion for continuous improvement in data science and technological automation solutions.
  • Experience in developing process maps and authoring technical and scientific literature.
  • Excellent writing skills to convey complex subject matter clearly.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess data quality issues and develop improvement solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate data governance concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience managing complex projects and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing data governance frameworks.
  • Knowledge of data and AI governance principles and relevant data protection regulations.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $177,905.00 - $230,230.00. Gilead considers various factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location, meaning actual compensation will vary. This position may be eligible for:
