Hi, we are Oscar. We are looking to hire a Provider Operations Data Management Associate to become part of our Provider Lifecycle team.

About the role

This lead analyst position will be in charge of analyzing, organizing, and managing data to optimize business processes and create efficiency. The Associate will collaborate closely with different departments to locate and identify data-related issues and then develop strategies that enhance data quality, integrity, and accessibility. The Associate will also make sure to deliver Oscar’s regulatory reporting accurately and timely. We're looking for an ideal candidate with a strong background in data analysis, project management, and provider data management, who has a positive history of implementing successful data management initiatives. You will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Data, and Reporting.

If you live within commuting distance to our offices in New York City (Hudson Square), Tempe (off the 101 at University Ave), or Los Angeles (Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

Pay Transparency:

The base salary for this role in California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington states is: $93,600 - $122,850 annually. The base salary for this role in all other listed locations is: $84,240 - $110,565 annually. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify provider data-related challenges and develop comprehensive solutions.
  • Offer technical and analytical support for network filing and Oscar’s network expansion projects; be accountable for data deliverables needed for Oscar’s regulatory compliance.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and implement provider data management strategies, policies, and procedures to make sure ongoing data integrity and accuracy.
  • Work closely with IT teams to design and implement databases, data warehouses, and data governance frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and data flow diagrams.
  • Create and maintain operational reports, dashboards, and metrics to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify data quality issues and implement steps to improve data accuracy and reliability.
  • Create custom queries to facilitate ad-hoc requests or to test a theory; looking for someone who knows how to use data to validate assumptions
  • Monitor and evaluate data management systems and processes to ensure they comply with regulations and industry standards.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 4 years of increasing responsibility and expertise in professional roles, particularly in Data Management or related roles
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in debugging and solving complex data problems with shown success in digging into data to locate root causes and drive solutions
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience using strong SQL skills
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with data management principles, data governance, and data quality assurance
  • 2 years of experience designing and/or improving data models
  • 2 years of experience presenting and delivering messages to senior leadership, strong communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • An expert in Excel and/or Google Sheets with a minimum of 3 years of experience

Bonus Points

  • A Bachelor's degree or significant demonstrated success in field
  • Experience with provider and facility data is highly preferred
  • Experience in operational management or process improvement roles
  • Experience in programming (especially Python)
  • Background in health insurance
  • Experience in automating and/or designing data pipelines

Final salary amounts, within the base pay mentioned above, are decided by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
