Job Position: Associate Materials & Processes Research Engineer

The Research & Technology team in Bangalore is seeking an Associate Materials & Processes Research Engineer to support the Materials & Manufacturing Technology Integration (MMTI) team. The MMTI team specializes in integrating advanced manufacturing technologies and processes into Boeing's production systems. Key technical areas include composites and composite part fabrication, metals and detail part fabrication, corrosion and finishes, fasteners, and assembly processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Perform engineering and technical activities in Materials, Process & Physics for various Boeing programs.
  • Refactor and simplify Boeing Specifications, Parts, and Processes documents.
  • Review Boeing Drawings, part lists, process specifications, and substitution lists to determine Engineering requirements in Materials, Process & Physics.
  • Evaluate various industry specifications for materials and suggest alternatives to Boeing specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance to Boeing suppliers regarding structural assembly, machining/nonmetals, finishes, and electrical requirements.
  • Evaluate and test emerging technologies in structural assembly, machining/nonmetals, finishes, and electrical for potential business applications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Technical bachelor's degree with typically 4+ years of related work experience.
  • Degrees in Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering, or Aerospace fields are preferred.
  • Shop floor experience in assembly, machining, finishes, or electrical domains, preferably in aerospace.
  • A self-starter attitude with strong written, oral, business presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, and proficiency with MS Office tools.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to coordinate with Boeing personnel globally.

Typical Education & Experience:

A technical bachelor's degree is required, typically with 5 years of related work experience. A master's degree is preferred but not required.
