The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Mission Systems & Autonomy (MS&A) software capability is seeking an Associate Software Engineer in El Segundo, California, Huntington Beach, California, Annapolis Junction, Maryland, or Fairfax, Virginia. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team, focusing on the concept, requirements, architecture, design, and development of future systems. We are seeking innovative individuals who love trying new things and conquering challenges.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development, documentation, and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces, and designs for software systems
  • Develop and maintain code and integrate software components into a fully functional software system
  • Support with test procedures and document test results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Engage in software project management and software supplier management functions
  • Select, tailor, and deploy processes and tools; establish metrics
  • Conduct software research and trade studies
  • Troubleshoot software issues

This position requires the candidate to work 100% onsite at one of the listed location options. An active U.S. Secret Security Clearance is mandatory, and U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidates will need to complete a technical assessment during the selection process.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science from an accredited institution
  • 1+ years of experience in designing and developing software for real-time or non-real-time systems
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C, C++, and MATLAB
  • Experience working in an agile environment with collaboration tools like Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 2+ years of experience in software design and development
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to formal qualification
  • Experience with DevOps toolchains (Gitlab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc) for automating builds, tests, and deployments
  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Poly

Typical Education/Experience: Education and experience typically acquired through advanced technical education in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry along with 2 or more years of related work experience. ABET accreditation is preferred but not mandatory.
