This internship is part of an aggressive endeavor to design and develop intelligent audio analytics capabilities at the crossroads of deep learning and audio signal processing, with diverse application domains ranging from physical security to intelligent and connected vehicles.

Job Description

  • Design state-of-the-art Audio AI solutions using a combination of traditional signal processing and machine/deep learning-based strategies.
  • Research and develop solutions for audio foundation models, audio reasoning, generative audio, explainable audio AI, few-shot learning for rare sound events, anomaly detection for machine health monitoring, domain adaptation, and multi-modal sensing.
  • Team up with others to incorporate audio AI modules into prototype systems.
  • Prepare high-quality papers and/or patent submissions summarizing research findings.

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or related fields.
  • 2+ years of programming experience, proficiency in (Lightning), HuggingFace(transformers, diffusers), hydra.
  • A broad understanding of machine- and deep-learning algorithms and principles along with state-of-the-art methods.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with digital signal processing principles and techniques (multi-channel audio processing, DFT, filter-banks).
  • A record of publication in top machine learning and audio analytics venues (e.g., ICASSP, Interspeech, AAAI, ICML).
  • Experience with HPC platforms and job managers (Slurm, IBM LSF)

Additional Information

The American base range for this intern position is $31.00-$56.50. Within the range, individual salaries are determined based on several factors, including, but not restricted to, type of degree, work experience, job familiarity, role complexity, job type, job location, amongst others.
