About the Role

As a core member of our data engineering team, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and understanding how our drones perform, which directly impacts our product enhancement and customer satisfaction. Your responsibilities include managing and advancing the technology that processes data from our drones, creating tools for real-time performance evaluation, and implementing visualizations to communicate insights effectively across the company.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Create innovative tools to aid our engineers in monitoring and evaluating component performance.
  • Develop and maintain visualization dashboards for comprehensive access to performance data.
  • Support and refine the technology used for data collection and uploading from our drones.
  • Collaborate with software and hardware teams to establish and adjust critical performance metrics.
  • Recommend improvements by identifying product areas needing enhanced metrics.
  • Promote a metrics-driven approach in our product development cycle to accelerate progress and efficiency.
  • Enhance safety and reliability through strategic data use and risk mitigation strategies.

Are You a Good Fit?

Successful candidates will likely have:

  • Practical experience in robotics system management.
  • A strong background in data science and analytics within a robotics frame.
  • Proficiency in managing databases and data processors.
  • Expertise in C++ and Python.
  • The ability to liaise effectively across various teams.
  • An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in a field relevant to robotics or data engineering.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers an annual base salary range of $145,000 - $215,000, dependent on candidate experience and location. Employees at Skydio are also eligible for comprehensive benefit plans and a range of incentives and stipends.
