Overview of the Role:

We are seeking a skilled AWS Data Engineer to enhance our next-generation data platform. In this crucial role, you will leverage cutting-edge technologies to maximize the business value of our data assets. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure data availability, quality, and reliability. Utilize your expertise in cloud computing, infrastructure as code (IaC), Python programming, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies to drive our data initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement efficient ETL processes and data pipelines.
  • Build data ingestion and processing frameworks, both batch and streaming.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in data pipelines and queries.
  • Deploy using CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, Shell Scripting, Unit/Integration Testing).
  • Work extensively with AWS technologies (S3, DynamoDB, Glue, Athena, EMR, Redshift, Lambda, Kinesis, MSK, Airflow).
  • Develop software in Python (PySpark/Spark SQL)/Java, using Databricks.
  • Utilize IaaC principles for cloud resource management.
  • Implement data governance, metadata, retention, disaster recovery, and quality checks.
  • Set up monitoring, alerting, and logging systems for data issues.
  • Follow Agile development and SDLC best practices.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively across teams.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years experience in ETL processes, data pipelines, and data modeling.
  • Experience with data ingestion and processing frameworks.
  • Proficiency in AWS services and Python/Java programming.
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD platforms and deployments.
  • Understanding of Data Governance and quality checks.
  • Familiar with Agile software development.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 4+ years’ experience preferable.
  • Exposure to Data Security standards (e.g., GDPR) and Networking practices.
  • Experience with API solutions, Docker, and Kubernetes.
