Job Requirements
Mandatory Skills:
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or related discipline; or equivalent (minimum 12+ years overall work experience).
- Designing and implementing data ingestion pipelines from multiple sources using Azure Native services.
- Delivering proofs of concept of key technology components to stakeholders.
- Developing scalable and reusable frameworks for dataset ingestion and enrichment using Azure services.
- Integrating end-to-end data pipelines from source systems to data stores.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Azure services: ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Functions, Synapse/DW, Azure SQL DB, Event Hub, IOT Hub, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Analysis Service, Databricks, Azure Purview, Cosmo DB, etc.
- Minimum of 9+ years in Azure and Big Data technologies (Java, Python, SQL, ADLS/Blob, Spark/SparkSQL, Azure Databricks).
- Experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD deployments.
- Proficiency in cloud migration methodologies and tools such as Azure Data Factory, Data Migration Service, Event Hub, etc.
- Experience with Big Data file formats and compression techniques.
- Knowledge of cloud architectures, pros/cons, and migration considerations.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and ability to work independently under pressure.
Primary Responsibilities:
An Azure Data Engineering Manager is tasked with designing, building, and maintaining an organization's data infrastructure using Azure cloud services. Responsibilities include creating data pipelines, integrating data from various sources, implementing data security and privacy measures, monitoring and troubleshooting data flows, and optimizing data storage and processing for efficiency.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Azure DevOps environments with tools like Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services, Terraform.
- Building data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Apache Spark (preferably Synapse/Databricks).
- Knowledge of Azure RBAC and IAM, access controls, and security on Azure Cloud.
- Insight into Microsoft's latest tools and technologies vision.
- Role-based Microsoft certifications (DP600, DP203, DP900, AI102, AI900).
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI for creating reports/dashboards and generating business insights.
