We are currently expanding our team and are excited to announce an opening for a Basketball Data Scientist. This role is crucial as our Data Science team is central to our business, driving the development of Swish's cutting-edge data products. As a part of our team, you'll have the unique opportunity to own significant projects and impact the evolution of our sports betting products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and refine machine learning and statistical models to enhance Swish’s core algorithms dedicated to top-tier sports betting products.
• Create advanced feature sets tailored to the sports domain to enrich model context.
• Engage in all phases of model development—from proof-of-concept and beta testing to collaboration with data engineering and product teams for deployment.
• Enhance model effectiveness through thorough offline and online testing, continually striving for higher performance and efficiency.
• Analyze results to assess and iterate on model performance, pinpointing areas for improvement.
• Follow best practices in software development and contribute to our code repositories.
• Document all modeling processes and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We Require:

• Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field; PhD preferred.
• Proven experience in model development, specifically within the sports or sports betting industries.
• Deep understanding of Probability Theory, Machine Learning, Inferential Statistics, Bayesian Statistics, and Markov Chains.
• Prior experience with Python, SQL, GitHub, and AWS.
• Strong leadership skills with a history of solving complex problems through innovative solutions.
• Excellent communication abilities with both technical and non-technical teams.

Compensation: We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $195,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
