Role Overview: Business Intelligence Engineer (Remote)

As a Business Intelligence Engineer at Fusemachines, you will be instrumental in harnessing data to spearhead strategic initiatives and boost operational efficacy. Your primary responsibilities will include the creation and management of comprehensive PowerBI dashboards and reports. These tools will play a crucial role in streamlining business operations and upgrading customer engagement strategies.

This position is remote and contract-based, initially set for 3 months, with potential for extension.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in data analytics, specializing in business intelligence and data visualization.

Essential Skills / Competencies

• Demonstrable expertise as a PowerBI Developer, with a portfolio highlighting effective dashboards and reports.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for robust data extraction, transformation, and manipulation.
• Deep understanding of data modeling principles with proficiency in crafting efficient data models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, capable of converting business needs into technical executions.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, ensuring productive collaborations in cross-functional settings.
• Familiarity with other BI tools like Tableau is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with various teams to gather business requirements and transform them into actionable data insights using SQL and PowerBI.
• Develop interactive, visually engaging dashboards and reports to clearly communicate key metrics, trends, and discrepancies.
• Enhance and optimize data models and queries for improved performance and scalability of PowerBI implementations.
• Employ industry best practices in data visualization to ensure clarity, coherence, and functionality for all users.
• Coordinate with data engineers for seamless integration and steadfast accuracy of data sources.
• Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to users, maximizing the effectiveness and adoption of BI tools.
• Keep abreast of latest trends in data visualization and analytics technologies, advocating for progressive improvements and innovations.
• Work in sync with IT departments to adhere to stringent data security and governance standards.
