About Takealot Group

Comprising Takealot.com, Superbalist.com, and Mr D, the Takealot Group BI Analyst collaborates with internal stakeholders to determine their business intelligence, reporting, and data analysis needs. The role involves working with business and development teams to design and document dashboards, alerts, and reports. More than just a report builder, the BI Analyst acts as a data modeller, steward, and expert in data manipulation to unveil insights previously unknown.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead BI analytical projects as we implement new BI software tools and systems, including Google Big Query and Looker.
• Work on highly complex, cross-functional, and enterprise BI solutions.
• Evaluate the needs of internal and external stakeholders to provide effective solutions.
• Support the planning, technical design, development, and testing of BI solutions.
• Contribute to the development of information quality metrics.
• Review data pipelines and test plans to ensure accuracy.
• Research new tools, frameworks, and techniques that positively impact BI architecture.
• Develop best practices for reports and dashboard deployments.
• Offer guidance, training, and problem-solving assistance to team members.
• Provide subject matter expertise for core BI functions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Business Management.
• A minimum of 5 years of Business Analysis or related technical experience. Alternatively, 8 years of equivalent experience is required if formal education is not attained.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with BI reporting tools such as Looker, QlikView, Tableau, or Microsoft BI.
• Minimum 3 years of SQL experience.
• Minimum 3 years of Data Warehousing experience.
• Proficiency in handling large data sets and business models.
• Knowledge of Advertising and Marketing data, reporting, and analytics is ideal.
• Experience with one or more business functional areas.
• Experience with Python and in e-commerce is advantageous.
