Job Description: BI Developer

Join our Data and Analytics team as a BI Developer at TAL. In this role, you will work closely with business and IT to create and modify TAL reports, incorporating new data and aligning business rules. Your responsibilities will include developing and maintaining ETL/ELT connections from multiple sources and creating tables and views based on business logic and user requirements. You will also develop and maintain effective business intelligence and data warehouse solutions, contributing to a robust and automated information reporting system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project and Task Management: Efficiently work with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into key objectives.
  • Data Warehousing & Modelling: Develop, design, and maintain data warehousing solutions for operational and performance data.
  • Design and maintain integrations for data warehousing solutions.
  • Develop end-to-end reporting solutions, including ingestion, ETL, and PowerBI reporting.
  • Conduct source system data discovery and analysis.
  • Liaison and collaboration with Data & Analytics (DnA) and IT teams.
  • Full solution testing, including system, performance, and UAT.
  • Prepare for deployment and go-live activities.
  • Maintain well-organized documentation of developed solutions.
  • Manage risks and maintain standard operating procedures for key information products.
  • Contribute to and maintain the DnA risk and issues register.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Strong understanding of database architecture and reporting tools (Power BI).
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting (T-SQL).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders at all levels.
  • Expertise in ETL (SSIS).
  • At least 5 years of experience in BI Development.
  • Proven ability to drive projects to completion in a challenging environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand complex data structures and environments.

Desirable

  • Life Insurance knowledge.
  • Attributes such as assertiveness, resilience, and flexibility in times of change.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
